Dan's Famous Pudding Cookies

In the words of Danielle (my sister) this recipe makes A LOT of cookies, but not TOO much :-) Dan created this recipe because she wanted a no fail chocolate chip cookie recipe with a little something special, and let me tell you, these are A LOT of something special.

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter softened
1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Sift/ Whisk the flour and baking soda set aside
3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar and white sugar
4. Next, beat in the dry instant pudding mix
5. Stir in the eggs and vanilla
6. Blend in the flour/baking soda mixture
7. Finally stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts
8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
