Due Date: July 13, 2013
(just one day shy of our wedding!)

Phew! Matt and I found out we were pregnant right around Halloween. We decided to keep the secret just long enough until we could make it through the first trimester. We had our initial appointment at 9 weeks and were able to see our little peanut on a screen and man was that baby moving around like crazy! We couldn't yet hear the heart beat but we could see the flickering of his/her heart on the monitor. It was most definitely one of the most exciting moments of our life.

(I took 5 tests I was so thrilled)

(baby J at 9 weeks!)

Up until this point my weeks have been filled with lots of nausea, a little exhaustion, and tears of course. Some days are better than others and most all foods make me want to hurl. Going to the grocery store is actually quite comical because most everything looks appalling to me. Most memorable moment so far is when I was shopping with Jami in target and had to sprint to the bathroom to throw up breakfast, not a pretty sight!

Poor Matt has been left fending for himself on most days because I can't even imagine cooking (mostly smelling what I am cooking). Matt has been such an amazing help. He's cooked, cleaned, let the dogs out early in the morning when I can't imagine getting up! I'd say I'm pretty darn lucky to have him around.

I haven't been keeping up with running too much lately. Occasionally now I will go on an easy one mile jog or so, but this baby is taking it out of me. He or she might be small but they sure are letting me know they are there! Matt has been walking a lot with me, on the days I can stomach it and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the second trimester will be "rainbows and butterflies" as my grandma promised me!

My mom and my sister visited us for the Marine Corps ball. My mom came a day earlier than Danielle and we of course couldn't wait so we spilled the beans at dinner. She nearly jumped out of her chair, we were making such an amazing ruckus that the couple next to us actually congratulated us! Danielle got into town the next night and we greeted her like this:
Needless to say she was VERY surprised!
